Title: Effect of Plumbagin on Anger-Like Behavior in Rats: Exploration of the Involvement of Amygdalar NOS System.

Guide: Dr. Sameer Goyal; Co-Guide: Dr. Sanjay Awathale

Techniques learned: Evaluation of anger-like behavior using anger chamber. Stereotaxic surgery, brain area isolation, tissue homogenization and protein estimation. Golgi-cox staining, Immunohistochemistry, cell viability assay, Western blot, qRT-PCR, High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), UV spectroscopy, ELISA assay,bioanalyzer and Microscopy.

1. Plumbagin diminishes nitric oxide and elevates serotonin in the cortico-striatal circuitry of mice with mTBI-induced obsessive-compulsive disorder.

2. 5-HT3 receptor antagonism mitigates anger-like phenotype in rats by inhibiting peripheral IL-6-induced amygdalar NF-κB–IDO1 signalling.
