EXAMINATION

SVKM’s IOP Examination Cell

The examining authority is Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU), Lonere laid down the guidelines for the assessment of internal and external examination. Two sessional exams are conducted for theory and practical’s. The internal theory examination pattern consists of three continuous assessments. The internal Practical examination comprises of continuous assessment which includes attendance and student-teacher interaction.

All exams are conducted as per the academic calendar provided by university. The well-defined paradigms as prescribe by PCI and University are followed for efficient conduct examination.

SVKM’s IOP examination cell provides code of examination to regulate the process with highest transparency and discipline.

Mechanism of Exam Grievances at College Level

 

Tab-Exam Forms and Process

A. Regular Exam Form Filling Process:

  1. Student through his login will fill the supplementary exam by choosing subjects semester wise
  2. Student will confirm his subjects and will pay the exam fees.
  3. After Payment successful, form will be submitted to institute
  4. Institute will verify and approve the form.
  5. In case of any corrections before institute confirms it, student can get it corrected from the institute login by informing the institutes.
  6. Once regular exam form is confirmed by the institute, student will not be able to make any change.
  7. After Institute confirmation, Hall ticket will be generated.
  8. Student must note that once paid fees will not be refunded.

** Hall ticket Print button will be activate once Exam time table declared.

B. Supplementary Exam Form Filling Process:

  1. Student through his login will fill the supplementary exam by choosing subjects semester wise.
  2. Student will confirm his subjects and will pay the exam fees.
  3. After Payment successful, form will be submitted to institute.
  4. Institute will verify and approve the form.
  5. In case of any corrections, institute will reject the form and send it back to student.
  6. Student must make corrections, if the subjects are added then he/she needs to pay the fees. Students can also swap subjects or must keep earlier selected and confirm the subjects.
  7. After making corrections student has to resubmit the form to institute and Insitute will verify and confirm the supplementary exam form.
  8. After Institute confirmation, Hall ticket will be generated.
  9. Student must note that once paid fees will not be refunded.
  10. Please select your subject properly by checking its subject code and group "A" or "B"

Exam Pattern

I.Sessional Examinations

a.) Theory Sessional Examination

There shall be two or more periodic sessional (internal assessment) examinationsduring each academic year. The duration of the sessional exam shall be 90 minutes. The highest aggregate of any two performances shall form the basis of calculating the sessional marks. The scheme of the question paper for theory sessional examinations shall be as given below.

Internal assessment:

The marks secured by the students out of the total 40 shall be reduced to 20 in each sessional, and then the internal assessment shall be calculated based on the best two averages for 20 marks.

b.) Practical Sessional Examination

There shall be two or more periodic sessional (internal assessment) practical examinations during each academic year. The duration of the sessional exam shall be three hours. The highest aggregate of any two performances shall form the basis of calculating the sessional marks. The scheme of the question paper for practical sessional examinations shall be as given below.

* The marks for the experiments shall be divided into various categories, viz. major experiment, minor experiment, spotters, etc. as per the requirement of the course. Internal assessment: The marks secured by the students out of the total of 80 shall be reduced to 10 in each sessional, and then the internal assessment shall be calculated based on the best two averages for 10 marks from the sessional and the other 10 marks shall be awarded as per the details given below.

  1. For the courses having either assignments or field visit/s, the assessments of assignments or field visit/s shall be done directly for 10 marks and added to the sessional marks.
  2. For the courses not having both assignments and field visits, the whole 20 marks shall be calculated from the sessional marks.

II. Final Board / University Examinations

a.) Theory examination

The scheme of the question paper for the theory examinations conducted by the examining authority (Board / University) shall be as given below. The duration of the final examination shall be 3 hours.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATIONS/ASSESSMENTS FOR M. PHARMACY SPECIALIZATION

The schemes for internal assessment and end semester examinations are given in as follows:

a. Examination conducting authority: DBATU, Lonere (MS)

b. Regular and Supplementary Examinations and time: (Tentative schedule) The University will decide exact schedule on the basis of prevailing situation.

c. Examinations:

  • 80 % attendance for both theory and practical classes separately shall be mandatory to appear for sessional examination and end semester examination.
  • Assessment of each theory subject studied by student will carried out for 100 marks [75 marks external exam and 25 marks of In-semester assessment (In-semester exam contains 15 Marks for theory Sessional exam & 10 marks for continuous assessment)].
  • Assessment of each practical subject studied by student will carried out for 150 marks [100 marks external exam and 50 marks of In-semester assessment. (In-semester exam contains 30 Marks for practical sessional & 20 marks for continuous assessment)].
  • There will be a minimum of TWO Sessional examination for theory and for practical conducted in each semester after minimum six weeks of teaching from the date of commencement of that semester.
  • Sessional exam shall be conducted for 30 marks for theory and shall be computed for 15 marks. Similarly, Sessional exam shall be conducted for 30 marks for practical and shall be computed for 30 marks.
  • The time schedule for theory Sessional examination will be 1.30 hour.
  • Hence, the semester assessment for THEORY will be of 25 marks which includes 15 marks for theory sessional and 10 marks for continuous assessment like attendance (8 marks) and Student-Teacher Interaction (2 marks).
  • The semester assessment for PRACTICAL will be of 50 marks which includes 30 marks for sessional and 20 marks for continuous assessment (like attendance 10 marks and based on practical records regular Viva-voce for 10 marks).
  • Disciplinary action will be taken against a student using unfair means during any examination.
  • The scaled marks can thus be used to calculate the Credits, Grades, Credit points earned by the student can then be used to calculate the SGPA and CGPA.

d. Promotion and award of grades:

A student shall be declared PASS and eligible for getting grade in a course of M. Pharm. programme if he/she secures at least 50% marks in that particular course including internal assessment.

e. Carry forward of marks:

In case a student fails to secure the minimum 50% in any Theory or Practical course as specified in 12, then he/she shall reappear for the end semester examination of that course. However, his/her marks of the Internal Assessment shall be carried over and he/she shall be entitled for grade obtained by him/her on passing.

f. Improvement of internal assessment

A student shall have the opportunity to improve his/her performance only once in the sessional exam component of the internal assessment. The re-conduct of the sessional exam shall be completed before the commencement of next end semester theory examinations.

g. Reexamination of end semester examinations

Reexamination of end semester examination shall be conducted as per the schedule given in following table. The exact dates of examinations shall be notified from time to time.

h. Allowed to keep terms (ATKT):

A student shall be eligible to carry forward all the courses of I and II semesters till the III semester examinations. However, he/she shall not be eligible to attend the courses of IV semester until all the courses of I, II and III semesters are successfully completed.

A student shall be eligible to get his/her CGPA upon successful completion of the courses of I to IV semesters within the stipulated time period as per the norms.

Note: Grade AB should be considered as failed and treated as one head for deciding ATKT. Such rules are also applicable for those students who fail to register for examination(s) of any course in any semester.

i. Grading of performances:

1. Letter grades and grade points allocations:

Based on the performances, each student shall be awarded a final letter grade at the end of the semester for each course. The letter grades and their corresponding grade points are given in following Table.

A learner who remains absent for any end semester examination shall be assigned a letter grade of AB and a corresponding grade point of zero. He/she should reappear for the said evaluation/examination in due course.

j. Declaration of class:

The class shall be awarded on the basis of CGPA as follows:
First Class with Distinction = CGPA of. 7.50 and above
First Class = CGPA of 6.00 to 7.49
Second Class = CGPA of 5.00 to 5.99

k. Project work

All the students shall undertake a project under the supervision of a teacher in Semester III to IV and submit a report. 4 copies of the project report shall be submitted (typed & bound copy not less than 75 pages).

The internal and external examiner appointed by the University shall evaluate the project at the time of the Practical examinations of other semester(s). The projects shall be evaluated as per the criteria given below.
