The institutional initiatives for clean and green campus

The institute is determined to create environment awareness among its staff and students and therefore following environment friendly practices are fostered as mentioned below:

Waste management

Plastic waste, wet waste, and dry waste are collected separately in dustbin. Various events are organized by students to spread awareness about hazards of plastic for nature. Institute strictly promotes paperless communication until it is inevitable to take print (that too only back-to-back printing and use of one side printed papers). Notes are also shared through various latest tools like MS Team, MOODLE, WhatsApp etc. If students demand, faculty members provide hardcopies.

Ban on the use of single-use plastics

The institute is single use plastic free zone. Separate collecting bins are placed on each floor to collect plastic waste. Staff and students are sensitized about hazards associated with plastic.

Rain water harvesting

It is in practice to save water. Staff and students take pledge for saving water, anti-littering drive, Swacha Bharat Abhiyan, e waste minimization drive and other pledges as part of clean and green campus and society.

Restricted entry of automobiles

Except building material carrying heavy vehicles and motor vehicle for similar other purposes, there is blanket ban on all type of vehicles beyond parking areas. This is done to confirm pollution free campus. Internal roads in the campus are pedestrian friendly. College encourages use of bicycles, bike pooling or carpooling to help reduce pollution and promoting fitness as well.

Battery-powered vehicles

High class, elegant and efficient battery powered vehicles are available at campus entrance and at institute entrance to ferry staff, students and visitors.

Pedestrian-friendly pathways

All the building in campus are well connected to pedestrian-friendly pathways. These pathways are well maintained, cleaned so that pedestrians can walk safely and comfortably to reach respective buildings. Entry of vehicles is restricted and barricades are installed strategically to prohibit any vehicular movement; in this way maximum people can use these pathways while ensuring pollution free environment. Trained security guards keep a tight vigil to implement these measures.

Landscaping with trees and plants

Entire walkways have shadow providing trees to have an eco-friendly environment besides giving some serene and positive vibes to all stakeholders. Ample tree plantation further aids in keeping the air in the campus fresh and clean. At least once in a year institute organizes plantation drive.
